The luxurious 7 series limousines have been produced by BMW since 1977. The latest, fourth generation of these vehicles presented in Frankfurt/Main in 2001 is a real breakthrough. The vehicle presents a completely new body styling and introduces state-of-the-art ‘i-Drive’ technology, referring to computer operation. At the beginning of 2005, modernization of the appearance of the car and refreshment of the range of utilized engines took place. Today, this luxurious BMW model comes with a 6-cylinder, 3.0-liter 258 hp plant, or with V8 engines: a 4.0-liter 306 hp, a 4.8-liter 367 hp, and a 6.0-liter 445 hp V12 engine. Moreover, diesel power plants are mounted: a 3.0-liter 231 hp unit and a 4.4-liter 258 hp V8. Upon request, the 7 series limousine may be furnished with an electronically controlled system of pneumatic suspension or an extended wheelbase.
