The successor to the sports Z3 roadster, presented in 1995, is the Z4 model first presented in Paris, 2002. The concept of the vehicle has not been changed, yet its body was styled in accordance with the new BMW line. This 2-seat vehicle was originally offered with 6-cylinder plants: a 2.5-liter 192 hp and a 3.0-liter 231 hp engine, and since the fall of 2003 – also with a 2.2-liter 170 hp unit. At the beginning of 2005, it was also provided with a 4-cylinder, 2.0 -liter engine developing 150 hp. Just like the previous Z3 model, the Z4 is also produced only at the American BMW plants in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
