A completely new B-Class Mercedes-Benz was presented in Geneva in 2005. It is a compact class minivan of very attractive styling. Its design derives from the A-Class models. Although it has slightly greater dimensions, similarly to the A-Class models, it has front-wheel drive and the floor panel consists of two layers. The range of engines and gearboxes also come from the A-Class model, although in the B-Class model a 2.0-liter CDI 82 hp is not employed. The B-Class model came to compete in a segment of vehicles thoroughly new for the Mercedes-Benz brand, yet the first reactions of the market imply an obvious success of this model.
