The 3 series BMWs have been produced since 1975. At the end of 2004, a completely new model of the fifth generation appeared, bearing the factory E90 marking. At first, the sedan version was presented, followed by the new Touring version of April 2005, whose official presentation is yet to take place in Frankfurt/Main in September 2005. Initially, the new vehicle in its 320i version has been provided with a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter 150 hp engine, in the 325i version – with a 6-cylinder 2.5-liter 218 hp plant, and in the 330i version – with a brand new 3.0-liter 258 hp plant. Moreover, the 320d version features the well-known 2.0-liter 163 hp unit, and the 330d has had a modernized, 6-cylinder 3.0-liter 231 hp engine since mid-2005. Although the new 3 series model features a new floor panel and a new body form, it still presents the style of a compact, dynamic vehicle of sporty character.
